We’re excited to announce that we will be launching the AASR Women’s Caucus this summer! We’re already off to a good start with a core membership of 37 women across various disciplines including religious studies, sociology, anthropology, theology, philosophy, history, gender, and feminist studies!
The aim of the Caucus is to create a vibrant network of women scholars in Africa and beyond who are engaged in the study of religions in Africa and its diaspora from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. Through the AASR Women’s Caucus, we hope to create a space that will offer community, mentorship, research collaboration, and networking, and at the same time, a strong body that will advance the multidisciplinary study of African religions, broadly conceptualized.
